Players required 2-10. A player is chosen as dealer. Dealing the cards moves one person to the right after each hand. Only the two players to the dealers left initially add money to the table. These players are called blinds. The small is immediately to the dealers left, the big is to the small’s left. The amount is decided before the beginning of the game. Each player receives two cards that are laid face down on the table.
Cards face down on the table are called the hole cards. After the dealing of the two cards, betting begins with the player on the big blind’s left hand side. He may choose to raise, call or fold. Two cards are dealt face down to each player.
Once these have been dealt, the betting begins with the player sitting to the big blind’s left. This player can fold, call (match the amount of the big blind) or raise. Players continue to bet, with the option of raising, calling or folding. When betting has ceased, three cards laid on the table with faces up. These cards are given the name of the flop.
Betting begins once again with the first player still in the game seated left of the dealer. If bets have not increased, the player can choose to check. Otherwise, their choice is to fold, call or raise the bet. Another card is placed the table with its face showing. This card is named the turn. Betting continues a third time as before. A final card is laid on the table with face showing. It is named the river. Players place their bets final time.
Players use their face down cards along with the revealed cards to make the standard poker hand using five cards.
